- Yellow Card, Africa’s largest stablecoin solutions provider, is entering Brazil, Latin America’s largest crypto market and the world’s top crypto adopter, through the acquisition of GoMoney.
Yellow Card, Africa’s largest and first licensed stablecoin on- and off-ramp, expands into the Brazilian market. The stablecoin payment solutions provider is entering Latin America’s largest crypto market by acquiring GoMoney Sociedade Prestadora de Serviços de Ativos Virtuais Ltda. (GoMoney), a virtual asset service provider (VASP) in the country.
Yellow Card’s Acquisition of Brazil’s GoMoney
According to Yellow Card, it completed the deal with GoMoney in October. The decision stemmed from the company’s goal of strengthening its presence in Brazil, a country Chainalysis ranked first on its 2026 Global Crypto Adoption Index.
The deal enables Yellow Card to establish direct operations in Brazil. Additionally, the acquisition adds to its local collections and disbursements in Brazilian reais and settlement in stablecoins through a domestically regulated rail. Its framework is also compatible with Pix, the Central Bank of Brazil’s (BCB) real-time digital payment platform.
Despite the acquisition, Yellow Card clarified that GoMoney will continue to be run by its founders. However, GoMoney will now operate as a wholly owned subsidiary of Yellow Card.
Neither Yellow Card nor GoMoney disclosed the acquisition amount.
Why the Deal Matters
“What started as a mission to solve payment challenges across Africa has grown into something much bigger across emerging markets,” said Chris Maurice, Co-Founder and CEO of Yellow Card. “Today, we’re building the stablecoin infrastructure that connects businesses and markets around the world. And we’re not stopping here.”
The move extends Yellow Card’s support to over 50 currencies. Additionally, it would help increase the platform’s transaction volume, which surpassed $10 billion as of mid-September this year.
Brazil ranked highly on Chainalysis’ latest evaluation after recording $252.5 billion in crypto activity between July 2025 and June 2026. Moreover, the report found that stablecoin activity in the country rose sharply, surging 495% between 2024 and 2026.
The blockchain data platform attributed the rapid climb in stablecoin movement in Brazil during the period to growing use cases in business payments, including cross-border transfers and liquidity management.
$40 Million Fund Raise
The milestone follows Yellow Card’s August financing round. It notably secured $40 million in investments from various institutions, including Standard Chartered Bank and Sony.
The company has recently expanded its regulatory compliance across Canada, Switzerland, Nigeria, Ghana, and Zimbabwe. Nonetheless, it still plans strategic expansions in more markets.
